Regulation for SAMU from a fictitious clinical case - experience of medical students

Objective: to discuss the medical regulation of SAMU emergencies, its functioning and its importance, from a fictitious clinical case, in the light of the scientific literature and current legislation. Method: This is an experience report elaborated from the activities of a discipline of the medical course of a private institution in Brasília. The fictitious cases and the performance of the regulatory physician were elaborated in the period from May 1 to 20, 2023 from the seminars provided for in the discipline and under faculty supervision. Results: O.S., 45, was driving, carrying 3 passengers in his vehicle, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into trees around the lane. A person who was at the scene called SAMU. The regulating physician must answer the call, record the call and receive the form with the information reported, provide guidance for immediate care, and classify the severity of the occurrence. Conclusion: After analyzing the situation and the performance of SAMU, we can conclude that it is a system of high efficiency from the point of view of patient triage and emergency medical care, highly equipped for the most diverse scenarios that can be found in this context so comprehensive.
